Tis’ the Season and our 3rd Annual Christmas Party is upon us! 

Friday, December 10, 2010 from 6 pm-12 midnight!  You guessed it—-this is a “Parents Night Out” Event!!!!  So, drop off the kiddos and go relax, have fun, shop! 

Cost: A dish to pass and a “Toys for Tots” toy.

If participating in the gift exchange, bring a wrapped gift in the $5-$10 range (this is optional).

National DEMO Team had their first practice Sat., Nov. 20, 2010. They all worked very, very hard and were extremely tired and sore the next day! Don’t worry guys; all this hard work will pay off a million fold! You guys are already champions! Your PKSA Family is behind you 110%!
It was especially cool to see them befriending one another and bonding together to begin to form ONE TEAM! Soon, they won’t even recognize each other from this school or that school—They are the National DEMO Team Family and a part of a much biffer picture!!!!! Congrats!!!!!

The Dojang will be closed for the entire weekend due to HQ Events/Trainings! Rest up and we will see you on Monday!!!!!

Also, the Turkey Brigade Raffle tickets will be on sale up until Promotions, which is Dec. 2nd!

The children will then deliver this extended monetary donation to Gleaner’s Food Bank on either Dec. 8th or 9th, 2010 when they visit Gleaner’s to assemble Holiday Baskets!!!

There are many great prizes, so good luck to everyone who enters! Remember: When leaders lead; others will follow!!!!  Let’s extend our efforts to new heights!

Now, the reward for all the hard work! Promotions will be held Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 6-8:30pm. The location is Brighton Nazarene Church 7669 Brighton Rd., Brighton, MI 48116. We will be set up in the Gym. DEMO Team must arrive by 5:30pm to help set up and for rehearsals!!!!!!
We will also be hosting an “AWARDS” segment at this Promotion for special recognition.
As always, a sweet treat to pass and please remember that we must remain a PEANUT FREE Facility (in-house, as well as, outside events)! This will prove to be a very exciting event—-don’t miss it!!!! Bring all your friends and family, take lots of pictures/videos and enjoy the celebration!!!!
Also, please make note that there will be NO CLASSES on Promotion Day!!!!!

Well Everyone, what a fantastic test!!!!!!!!! Master Collins, Jr. & Sr. only had a few areas that we need to work on; but, overall we scored very high!!!!! We are so proud of each and everyone of you!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!

OK Everyone!!! I understand there is some confusion regarding the Raffle. So, I’m going to try and lay it out here for you the best I can; but as always you can call or ask questions at the Dojang.

During the “Turkey Brigade” March, many businesses gave Gift Certificate/Cards vs. Monetary Donations; $475 worth of gifts!  So we decided to turn that into a “raffle” to continue to benefit the “Turkey Brigade” Mission.  Because this raffle is charity driven, the price for the first ticket was set @ $20 and $5 for any additional tickets desired.  All of the prizes  will be given away at Promotions.  With that being said, the tickets will now be sold up until Promotions !!!!!
Now for the update on the ‘Turkey Brigade” Event.  We are unable to get a list of families from any organization for several  reasons; however, the pastor of 2/42 Community Church put us in touch with someone at Gleaner’s Food Bank.  So, after exhausting all resources; we’ve decided to take on a similar role as last year.  Gleaner’s has already picked up the food that has been donated thus far and all of that weighed in @ 386 pounds of food. Gleaner’s documents 1 pound feeds one person.  You do the math!!!  We’re helping to feed allot of people!  We did one more calculation to figure out how many families of 4 we fed.  That came out to 96.5 families fed so far by PKSA Karate Brighton!!!!!!!!  The final step for “Turkey Brigade” 2010 will be:

• Collection of any further food donations
• The RAFFLE

The money for the Raffle will be donated to Gleaner’s to help stock their food pantry after the Holidays! This will enable the contribution from PKSA Brighton to extend out past the immediate need! I really like that idea!
In, closing, we will be having at least one (if not two) food drives during the year to help replenish the food pantry that helps feed so many throughout the year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you to Everyone who participated in the 3rd Annual Turkey Brigade March. We walked ~3 miles to many local businesses to recruit help to accomplish our goals for feeding the less fortunate within our community. The totals are in! We raised $229.00 in monetary donations and $475.00 in Gift Card/Certificate Donations!!!!
We are now going to have a “Turkey Brigade” Raffle! This is our next step to rally enough resources to feed the less fortunate within our community! This is what we are going to do:
Tickets will be $20 (for the first)
$5 for each additional ticket {The tickets need to be purchased by Saturday, November 20, 2010 in order for all the shopping for the food baskets to be delivered for the Thanksgiving Holiday}!  The children will be packaging and delivering these baskets personnally with parents and our staff!!!!!!!
